Participation in ASA Softball and Future Plans

I have played in an A.S.A. league for nine years and it has influenced me a great deal as a person as well as my softball performance. The tournaments exposed me to an intensity of play that I had never experienced before at a young age. So, I feel that I owe a lot of who I am as a player today to the Amateur Softball Association. This association not only helped me to improve my softball skills, it also helped me make new friends and bond with a group of people. After every summer I feel so close to my entire team, they feel like family. You learn to trust your teammates on and off the field. In general, if someone asked me what A.S.A. Softball meant to me I would say; good fun, good friends and good competition.

In the future I will be attending St. John Fisher College to major in Nursing. I took part in an internship at Oneida Healthcare Center my senior year. I hope to have quite a plethora of knowledge about the field going into my freshman year. I was also recruited to play softball there. I think that due to the several years of playing A.S.A., I will be a successful pitcher in the program.
